As I stated earlier, in 1992 I became an over-the-road truck driver. In the fall of that year, my father passed away. One day, as I recall, my JD Truck Training Centre was out in the great northwest, Montana to be exact. Thinking of my past, my dad, and where I was, I started to create a poem. I call it This Great Land Of Ours.
Private trucking schools will take their time and won't pressure you. Remember, they want you to enjoy your learning experience so you will recommend their school to others. Trucking companies are hit and miss... some of them may push you and pressure you to keep their agenda alive... it's YOUR privilege to be working there so you BETTER perform. Now not all of them will treat you this way. A lot it will depend on the individual instructors.
I remember when the Truck driving school was teaching me how to meet all the CDL requirements. They taught me how to back up, shift and do lane changes and everything. But the real deal of getting loaded, to driving through the mountains is another thing.
I have long hair and sometimes a beard, but at least I don't have Lr licence to wear a tie, I think I'd die. I drive over 500 miles a day, so I change my scenery everyday. If travel is vacation to most, I guess I might be a great host.

The schools are like so many other things that we learn during our lives. They give you, hopefully a great foundation to make you a great driver. There really is a lot to learn about trucking and where to go and what the best route might be at any certain time of the year.
So, doubtless you are convinced that dog training is critical and there is no time like the present. After you research your dog training options, get started and have fun. Take my word for it, a trained dog is much more fun than a jumping, slobbering mess. My dog was an honor graduate of his courses and just a test shy of becoming a therapy dog and he's still a jumping, slobbering mess, but that's another story entirely... Report this page
